In Erin’s class this week we looked at contemporary artist Ann Wilkerson. What I liked about her work was the hard lines on objects–best seen on the fruit–and mismatched perspective planes. She works in pastels (over acrylic). I tried to mimic her style in this painting using oil pastel over oil paint…marginally successful. Added a backward shadow and border checkered pattern to play with the mismatched planes/intrigue feature of her work.
