Water Lilies, Oil on Canvas, 11×14, 2020

Supposed to be studying Monet’s water lilies here, but was unsuccessful because my canvas was too small. Monet’s work up close tends to be muddled and is very difficult to identify subjects in many cases. He gets away with it on these massive canvases because as you step back the pieces start unifying into “something” in this case water lilies. That said, nay discovered, I decided to play with greens and large super visible brushstrokes instead.
