This was an experiment of several kinds…Firstly, I picked up some 1/4″ MDF and gessoed it to see how I liked the surface. I did. Secondly, I used rose madder as an under painting. I’ve never even used the color rose madder before, but it made the phthalo blue I put over it almost purple. I’m not sure I liked the extreme pink. Thirdly, I had writer’s block (painter’s block?) with the empty very pink board, so I did some randomness. I think the creek turned out cool, but the sky and flowers not so much.
