Happy Friday! This painting was inspired by my cousin-in-law and fellow artist, Amanda Dolechek. She is an avid traveler and dog walker and I spotted one her beautiful photographs on Facebook from her visit to the Dyck Arboretum of the Plains in Hesston, KS. I know I was “taking a break” from landscape painting–this lasted exactly two paintings–but I just couldn’t resist. I was drawn to the colors (given), but also how the flowers in the foreground continue to through the trees in the background. They say the job of an artist is to teach people how to see, so hopefully I’ve drawn you to this detail.
