Fountain Creek Path, Oil on Board, 16×12, 2020

Plein air painting with Chris in Fountain Creek Park. It was my first time here and a hot one–lots of birds and bugs. Started out with purple as my “mother color.” I’ve been testing out different starting values to see how it influences the finished product…this one is, well, purple. I like the holes in the trees–stained glass again–and also all of the patterns in the light green on the right side. Being 103 degrees outside and my poor location choice of no shade led me to bring it in early and finish at home.
