This was the third (3rd!) attempt for this canvas…a painting on top of a painting on top of another painting, which gave it some unusual texture. The inspiration for this one was a photo I took while driving to South Dakota. I also wanted to try out what I call the “God coming down” look where beams or rays from the sun are visible. I asked my son what he thought of it and he said that there were too many clouds…
