I came across a “coffee table” book in the Arc Store by my house and flipped through it. The book was showcasing “modern farmhouse” as a decorating style (think Johanna Gaines…shiplap siding, everything is white or exposed wood beams…etc.). Then, because I like combining opposite things, I thought of applying the garish patterns and colors of the art deco era to a modern farmhouse. The result: this painting.
As a side note, this was my first time using metallic paint (the gold on the wallpaper). It acted very much like non-metallic paint.
