I decided to switch gears and start working on pieces for the upcoming “shit show” at Chris Alvarez’s gallery–featuring paintings of our stuff. Awhile back I saw something on The Jealous Curator an artist that did ultra-realistic paintings of diamonds and gemstones–maybe Angie Crabtree–there are several artists that do this. So I decided to paint my own “rock” for the show. It is amazing to me how many different colors showed up and how all of the lines and angles didn’t line up as I would expect.
